Growing up with Gerald
Posted for: GERARD THEODORE WOLTERMAN:
Gerald,
It's been 35 years ago today that you were killed. I remember like it was yesterday, looking at you in your coffin with that glass over your face so we couldn't touch you. You looked like you were sleeping - how we wished! We had so much fun growing up with you and even now, we miss you deeply. Walter went on to be a Colonel with the Utah National Guard, 19th Special Forces. The Col has been at Ft. Bragg for a number of years with the 18th Airborne. We still grieve losing you. Thanks for all you gave to keep us free. We had such grand ideas for what the world should be back in the 60's! I spoke with your mother and father and was humbled by their overwhelming love for you and how much they ache for you. God keep you safe and we'll see you on the other side. janet o'reilly herron blazin48@oreilly-fire.com
