comrade's lament

I served with Roland during the latter half of 1967 and remember the loss of him and the crew. I was building an orderly room for Major milke who really wanted it finished. I should have been my time to go to a forward position , but Major Milke altered the rotation schedule so that the project wouldn't stall. That meant Roland went in my place. I was shocked when the ship crashed, and have lived ever since with the knowledge that I was on borrowed time. I have a lot of photos of the 254th, but none of Roland .
