I Knew Chuck Houser

I was in Cu Chi when Chuck was killed just off the end of the runway at Cu Chi. Chuck was safety minded when he flew and we could hardly believe he was killed. His co-pilot said he slumped onto the controls and said I am hit. The door gunner pulled him up by his shoulder harness and they flew directly to 12th Evac Hospital at Cu Chi. Chuck was DOA at the hospital helipad. I was the Airfield Commander at Cu Chi at the time. Chuck was killed in Hau Nghia Province not the one listed.
