In Memory of our Brother
Posted for: DENNIS ADRAIN BROWN:
My Child, My Son

Written by his two sisters, Michelle and Vanessa Brown (ages 10 and 17)

Little feet, little boy
Full of laughter, full of joy.
Tramping through my flower beds,
Shooting cowboys till all are dead,
My child, my son, my little one.

Sweet and innocent that he is,
Though he often hits his sis.
Playing quietly beneath the sun,
Until the day is done,
My child, my son, my growing one.

Growing straight, growing tall,
Now he plays baseball.
Playing from dawn till setting sun,
He seems to always have lots of fun,
My child, my son, my loving one.

New comes to me straight and bold,
About the services he's been told,
But Mom, he pleads, you have to see,
Our country needs a man like me,
My child, my son, my grown one.

Six feet tall, eighteen years,
Now I shed my throbbing tears.
To serve his country he had to go,
To protect us from that awful foe,
My child, my son, my stalwart one.

So he entered Vietnam,
No more jelly, no more jam,
No more laughter, no more fun,
To serve his country he has gone,
My child, my son, my loyal one.

In memory I recall,
How he stood both straight and tall,
He served his time in living hell,
From a tower, there he fell,
Now his life is no more,
Just a hero of that war,
My child, my son, my honored one.
