"Klink" was a good friend

I, and the others in C 1/46th Infantry knew him as "Klink." He was fun loving. A good friend. Intelligent. Great sense of humor. I enjoyed his company very much. A few klicks out of LZ Professional with Charlie Company, they saw some VC/NVA moving in a clearing below the night lauger. The FO called in some artillery. One round went off course and crashed right into the 2nd Platoon CP. Klink and two others were killed. About seven wounded. Would have been worse, but the trees absorbed most of the schrapnel.
