Local Man Killed in Vietnam

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Ronald Joe Fulton, a native of Walla Walla, was killed in a helicopter crash in Vietnam. Fulton was reported missing 31 Jan (1970) after the aircraft was shot down. Born 4 Aug 1942, he was the son of the late Ronald E. Fulton and Mrs. Alene Gruber. Fulton graduated in 1960 from Walla Walla High School. In the summer of 1962 he married Marlene Warnicke, a local girl. He enlisted in the Army the same year. This was his second tour of South Vietnam. Survivors include the widow Marlene, and two children, Lisa and Ronald, all of Lompoc CA, his mother, Mrs. Gruber, Bremerton, a brother, Leo J. Fulton, Yakima, and a grandmother, Mrs. M.D. Clayton, Dixie. Fulton is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the Walla Walla area.
