| Jeff - my good friend | |
| Posted for: JEFFERY DAVID KUERSTEN: | |
| Jeff was a dear friend. His family and mine were extremely close, and he sometimes acted as my big brother. His mother had a lot of health problems, so Jeff had to grow up in a big hurry. He took care of his mom and his little brother, Ron when he had to, because dad wasn't around, until mom remarried. The last time I saw Jeff was at his going away party - going away to Nam. I remember him sitting down with me in a corner, and the two of us talking for quite a while, even though I was only twelve. I still miss him! We thought he would be pretty safe in Nam, because he was a medic. However, his helicopter was shot down, even with a Red Cross on the roof. They never found the majority of his body, so his mother was convinced he wasn't really dead, until the day she died. It was really sad. My husband was at the wall in 1985, and brought back rubbings of Jeff's name for his mom, along with a picture of his name. She died before we could get it to her. Love ya, Jeff! Still miss you! |
