| For Wade | |
| Posted for: WADE LAWRENCE GROTH: | |
| I saw the wall in D.C. today. For many years I stayed away. I looked both foward and with dread, To find your name among the dead. Yet as I stood before the stone, Your name called out, as if alone. With tears I stared for quite awhile. Your loss I couldn't reconcile. M.I.A.- an empty feeling, An open wound, that lacks healing. Did death take you with calming hand? An unmarked grave? A foriegn land? Or, at the crash, you fared well Though taken prisoner, a living hell? We searched for you through out that night And for days on end, with many flights. When my turn came to come home, It felt hollow to leave alone. Never knowing where you might be, Leaving a friend to the enemy God alone knows your fate, And so shall I, when I pass His gate. When once more, I'll see you, friend And we'll talk and laugh once again. |
